Billet Aluminium Fuel Rails Take 2 January 2006
May 2006
I'd always fancied a set of 17" OZ Superturismo wheels so when a set came up for sale in Glasgow for £120 i jumped straight in the Cavalier and headed down the A90 to collect them. Unfortunately, when i got there it turned out one of the rims was cracked. After travelling so far i had to give the seller the benefit of the doubt and following some haggling i took them back up North for £45.
The wheel is currently at Turriff Tyres where they are going to try and weld the wheel before straightening it out on their lathe press. If all is successful i hope to get all four refurbished and get some sticky tyres stuck on.
The billet aluminium fuel rails i fitted last month are still on trial and seem to be doing an excellent job of delivering fuel to the injectors. The plan is to get 1000 miles on them before removing the injectors to check for swarf deposits and changing out the swept aluminium fittings for compact forged ones.
In between refurbishing a couple of inlet manifolds i managed to give both the cars a rinse and grab some pictures of the (not so) new addition.
