Money Pit
September 2007

Having spent much of September building a garden shed the Impreza was all but forgotten about... but not quite completely forgotten about. Over the coming months i hope to fit a series of modifications to the car that should push the power output into the high 300's.

Some of the parts like the Apxei AVC-R boost controller and Walbro fuel pump have been carried over from my 300bhp project on the first Impreza. Many other parts have been bought brand new however, the Apexi Power FC and Nismo 555cc injectors for example.

I had originally bought 740cc injectors but after deciding to run 4barg static fuel pressure i figured 555cc units should be more than enough for my intended application.

Choosing the turbocharger was something i put a great deal of time and thought into. After much deliberation i decided to try the TD05-20G initially rather than the MD321H. Although the MD321H is a marginally more capable turbo, at double the price i couldn't justify the expenditure without first trying the 20G. Thanks to Andy Forrest for supplying the turbo.

I also picked up a small fortunes worth of Earls fittings as well as a cheap set of under-driven pulleys.
