An Era Ends and a Search Begins
November 2009

The first job to get on with after getting home from offshore was to see that the R888 tyres were whipped off the car and swapped for some more sensible Goodyear F1's. With the weather deteriorating i didn't fancy trying to sell the car on cut slicks!

This change in tyres was complimented with a reduction in asking price and only a few days later a nice gentleman agreed to buy the car. Fast forward a week and i was waving goodbye to the Subaru i'd owned for over 3.5 years. The new owner intends to use it in road rallies and has promised to look after it so i know it's in good hands.

So now the search begins for a replacement! I have only one car in mind as a successor to the RA. The Litchfield Mk2 Type 25 Spec C. Unfortunately these are a bit thin on the ground so i may end up having to wait a little while or compromise to a small extent, only time will tell! If you have one and would like to sell it, get in touch. :-)

I have plenty to keep myself occupied in the meantime however, not least of all perfecting the design of the lightweight reverse alternator bracket. This redesigned component now facilitates longitudal adjustment of the alternator to allow perfect pulley alignment. Another advantage of machining the component using different techniques is a reduction in manufacturing costs. I hope to design a knuckle to accommodate the OEM alternator before offering the part for sale... watch this space!
